Never-Never Land

Let's fly away.

To a place where time stands still.

Where you will never grow-up.

And you can be my baby forever.

Where's Bubba-Loo?

Spoon!

Get it?
Instead of saying "boo!" I said "spoon!"
Bah ha ha ha ha!

But seriously.
I'm in the spoon.

Happy Tuesday!

**Photos taken @ The Indigo Hotel in Downtown San Diego. Will post more photos from this photo shoot once the issue of San Diego Style Weddings Magazine is published (for which these photos were taken!). Stay Tuned!

Mia Rocks!

My lovely daughter recently accompanied me on a shoot (out of my three children, she's the least monstrous...and I mean that in the most loving way...!)

The task of taking photos of one's own child is an unsurmountable one. You would think that by being a photographer I would have millions of photos of my demonic spawn (again, I say this with nothing but love and tenderness in my voice...).

Not true.

Giving birth w/out an epidural is how I compare trying to take snaps of my off-spring. I would just rather not.

But since my darling Mia was w/ me and I just happen to have a camera in my hands I asked her to pose and give me a good smile.

Hmmm...As you can see in the first two photos, she ain't havin' it.

But wait! She finds a....ROCK. A freaking rock. A dirty, stinky, filthy old rock. Look at the smile on that child's face!

If you're wondering what to get her for her birthday.....

{L}ittle Girls

Little girls.
So full of hope.
So full of dreams.
So full of ENERGY!!
I saw my daughter sticking her head out of the window and the look on her face was of ecstatic joy. I had to take a quick snap shot of the moment.
When I was a little older than my daughter is now, I used to play on an all boys baseball team (I was a bit of a Tom-Boy!). I remember during one of our practices I expressed energetically to my coach that “One day, I want to play in the Majors!”.
He looked at me while chuckling and said, “You’ll never be good enough to play in the Majors!”
My heart sunk. My dream shattered.
Aren’t adults suppose to lie to you regardless and tell you that you can be whatever you want to be as long as you work hard at it?
That memory has always stuck with me. I will never tell my children that they can’t reach the moon. I still believe that anything is possible. I want my kids to believe in themselves.
I want Mia to go through life with her head out the window with the wind in her hair and the thrill that anything is possible.
That the moon is in her grasp.

{P}in This!

Peer pressure finally got to me and I started a Pinterest page.
Yes, I know. Welcome to the 21st century, right??!
I’m still a little rusty on how the whole thing works, and I think I’m getting a little pin happy….but OMGosh…how did this exist and I not be a part of it???
So, before I go to bed tonight, I wanted to post a quickie!
I have SO MANY talented friends (don’t worry y’all, you will all get a blog post in your honor, I PROMISE!!)…but I quickly just wanted t post this one banner my friend Ali Richardson with Ooh La La Co (you can find her store on Etsy by clicking here) that says ‘Bubba-Loo’ for me to hang at my desk.
It just makes me happy to look at it.
I love crafty friends.
They. Are. The. Bestest!
(Oh! And by the way, you are supposed to PIN THIS item. Get it?! Thanks for your cooperation on this matter! –The Managament)

{J}ust along for the ride...

My photography ‘career’ if you want to call it that started out as something so simple.
I wanted to take cool photos.
It has turned into the wildest ride of my life.
Being a mom of three kids it has not been an easy road. Not easy by a long shot.
But I love what I do. I love the people I meet. I love taking 'snaps'.
I love my job.
