Things I learned in my Photo Workshop

Some very important things were learned this past weekend while attending a photography workshop.

a. When feeling bored while holding your camera, use your ultra-cool knee high boots as props to take pictures of. Make sure to get them from every angle so you make sure to capture the 'essence' of the shoe (and to make you feel a little better for spending that much on a pair of boots.)

b. As quoted by the late Whitney Houston, "Crack is Whack". Especially the hairy kind.

I'm so glad I attended this workshop. It was very informative. And slightly disgusting...

I. Love. Brides.

While editing some wedding photos this fine evening, I came across this gem.

It made me giggle.

I mean..the BRIDE is EATING her bouquet.

That's funny stuff.

{L}ittle Girls

Little girls.
So full of hope.
So full of dreams.
So full of ENERGY!!
I saw my daughter sticking her head out of the window and the look on her face was of ecstatic joy. I had to take a quick snap shot of the moment.
When I was a little older than my daughter is now, I used to play on an all boys baseball team (I was a bit of a Tom-Boy!). I remember during one of our practices I expressed energetically to my coach that “One day, I want to play in the Majors!”.
He looked at me while chuckling and said, “You’ll never be good enough to play in the Majors!”
My heart sunk. My dream shattered.
Aren’t adults suppose to lie to you regardless and tell you that you can be whatever you want to be as long as you work hard at it?
That memory has always stuck with me. I will never tell my children that they can’t reach the moon. I still believe that anything is possible. I want my kids to believe in themselves.
I want Mia to go through life with her head out the window with the wind in her hair and the thrill that anything is possible.
That the moon is in her grasp.

HEY! Where was this when I was a kid...??

Okay. Fer REEEEELZ!!! Why did I not know about this 'secret club' called "Cotillion" when I was growing up??? They like teach you how to dance and how to have manners and all that pash-tukah.

The parents of these A-DORBES fifth and sixth graders go above and beyond to make each month of Cotillion a spectacular and memorable experience! I was just thrilled to be asked to photograph the event. I seriously could have spent ALL DAY taking photos!

I like-a to take-a da fotos.
