And That's a Wrap!

Ahhhh...Wedding Season.

My favorite time of the year!

Also the most stressful, enjoyable, exhausting, creative, can't feel my hands from too much editing, stupendous, hair pulling, exhilarating, frazzled, impelling, overtired and sensational time of the year!

I survived and that's all that matters! bah!!

I have to say though that my brides are the MOST beautiful (inside and OUT!), FUN, spontaneous and MADLY in love that they make my job not only EASY but SOOOOO enjoyable;)

I've come so far from where I started so many years ago with my little Canon Rebel (which by the way, if you're looking to dabble in photography, the Rebel is SUCH a great camera to learn on!!) and my kit lenses BEGGING my friends to model for me so that I could practice. Spending hundreds of hours watching tutorial after tutorial on how to use photoshop and signing up for every photography workshop I could! I had (and still do!) this unquenchable thirst to learn everything I could about photography because when I held a camera in my hands nobody could tell me what to do. I was slowly but surely coming into my own and developing my own style. That is the beauty of photography...your eye looking through the lens is like looking at a blank canvas and just by the push of a button you have created something beautiful! (except when your photos are blurry because your shutter speed was too slow because you didn't understand that in order to get the perfect photo you had to make sure that your ISO, your aperture and your shutter speed were all in sync...a lesson you learn as you go!)

Okay...wasn't I talking about weddings?? I get off track sometimes...(a lot, okay?? I get off the subject a lot. I can't help it. I have an appointment to get my brain checked for...well, I don't know...diet coke poisoning or something?)

Here are a few of my lovely brides from this year....

More to come soon!! xoxo

Magical Places

We are so blessed to have the opportunity to come to this beautiful place once a year. We spend the week being lazy and eating oreo's on the beach, cruising on the boat, and enjoying one another's company while sitting around the bonfire listening to my Father in Law play the ukulele. It's a place where there are no distractions (as in there is NO PLACE IN THIS WHOLE FREAKING PLACE WHERE YOU CAN GET CELL SERVICE OR A WI-FI SIGNAL!!! Ahhhhh!).

We are truly blessed to know this place.

It is magical.

Summer

Don't be fooled for one second.

This is not my child.

I don't dare share photos of my own children, only as if to save you from pure and utter horror.

Starry Starry Night

Arg!

'Tis been way too long since I have logged on and bloggity blogged! I have been KAY-RAY-ZAY busy with kids home from school (yeah, it's called Summer and my kids want to be entertained TWENTY-FOUR-SEVEN! It's called 'go outside and make a fort' or find some snails and push on their antennas like normal kids. GEESH!).

I will taunt you with a pic from the latest wedding I shot up in Old Town Pasadena (Oh! How I love that TOWN!!). If anyone wants to do a photo shoot up there (and you're willing to drive!) then I'm all yours! lol!

Enjoy... ;)

Armed and Dangerous! lol!

This was a fun wedding to "shoot"! lol!

As you may have guessed from this photo, it was a Shotgun Wedding! When discussing plans and ideas with the bride ahead of time, we thought it would be super funny if her father (first generation Taiwanese and a PREACHER!) came to the wedding with a shotgun! I never thought he actually WOULD!!

He played the part so great and made everyone laugh (no literally, he pointed the gun at us and said, "Laugh you monkeys!". We really had no choice!).

I beg of you...if you are planning a wedding and are willing to just gooooooo with the flow and have FUN, the I want to be your photog! Yes. This is me begging. But seriously, when I'm having fun, and your having fun, your photos are going to be SO MUCH BETTER!!! This I can promise you!

Look for more photos from T & E's wedding coming soon!!!

Guinea Pigs!

Okay peeps! This is what you get when you mix ME, PINTEREST, DIET COKE, CRAIGSLIST, and AMAZE-BALL friends who will let you borrow cute accessories {you know who you are!!} in order to make a photo shoot like this come together. This is something I have been wanting to do FOR-EVVVV-VER!!!

Why? You ask.

I have no answer, except that I just thought it would be neat-o!

Now, had I known how much WORK would go in to putting this all together...I may have backed out before I even started! But I find that if I stop trying to be creative w/ my photography and don't try new things then I don't LEARN! And this whole wild ride has been one learning experience after another...

There were so many other cute things I wanted to do with Vanessa and Jay (JAY WAS SUCH A GREAT SPORT!!!), but we simply ran out of time:{

That just means that I can try them on YOU!!! If you could only see inside this brain of mine. It's a swarming HIVE of idea's...I just need FUN, EASY GOING couples (which in my vocabulary means you do whatever the heck I tell you to do! Muah-ha-ha-ha-haaaa!) that will let me have my way with you...I have visions of sail boats and bikes, and swings....Not that I have ever done any of those things before...but you gotta just go with it....

Won't you be my Guinea Pig???? ;)

A GIGANTIC shout-out to Verity Jane {verity@verityjanevintage.com} who let me borrow her lovely vintage china for this romantic picnic in the woods! Her pieces are so exquisite and dainty...you feel like a princess when drinking from one of her tea cups! For anyone looking to rent vintage china for your wedding shower/wedding/ or ANY sort of event, she is the one to call! I give her my highest rating!! CALL HER and I PROMISE you your event will be the talk of the town!

btw: I just want all of you to know that I (yeah, MEEEE) baked those cute little bundt cakes sitting upon Verity's adorbes vintage cake plate! I just had to let you know that because me and the oven haven't spoken in a while so it was good having a little together time;)

Oh Blog! How I have been neglecting you!

Oh blog! How I've missed you! There just are not enough hours in the day!

I felt like I owed it to my fan (I hope you're out there...SOMEWHERE!!) to post a pic that I've had sitting on my desktop just WAITING to be seen!

If you haven't guessed already, this was taken in my 'magical field'. My magical field that they gave a BUZZ CUT just shortly after these photos were taken.

STUPID fire season.

But you know me...I'm always scouring the area for places to stick someone to take their photos! I feel like Ralphie from 'Christmas Story' who is constantly day dreaming...but in my day dreams I see vintage sette's in fields of wildflowers, and YOU and your cute family dressed only in clothes from Anthropologie.....ahhhh....

Make my dreams come true, would you??? Summer is upon me which means I have kids TWENTY-FOUR SEVEN. That's enough to drive a person off their rocker!

If you care about me at all, you will email me and book a session. I'm begging you.

It's for the children.... :)

Pee-Pee-PE-oh!-Knees!

Yes. Okay?? I'm STILL editing photos from J&S's day of wedded bliss.

BUTT (notice how I added the extra 'T'? I'm crazy like that!)....I am also OBSESSING lately over Peonies!

I want to eat them.

I want to lay in a bed of Peonie Petals....

Mia Rocks!

My lovely daughter recently accompanied me on a shoot (out of my three children, she's the least monstrous...and I mean that in the most loving way...!)

The task of taking photos of one's own child is an unsurmountable one. You would think that by being a photographer I would have millions of photos of my demonic spawn (again, I say this with nothing but love and tenderness in my voice...).

Not true.

Giving birth w/out an epidural is how I compare trying to take snaps of my off-spring. I would just rather not.

But since my darling Mia was w/ me and I just happen to have a camera in my hands I asked her to pose and give me a good smile.

Hmmm...As you can see in the first two photos, she ain't havin' it.

But wait! She finds a....ROCK. A freaking rock. A dirty, stinky, filthy old rock. Look at the smile on that child's face!

If you're wondering what to get her for her birthday.....
